Why V-day should be banned!!!!And not just because I'm single!

Yes, its the time of year again. Most people think that I feel the way I do about valentines day because I'm usually single and don't have plans...I don't have plans not because I can't get a date, but because I truly loathe the holiday. To me, valentines day is just a commercial holiday to get people to buy things supposedly to show people that they love them. I'm not questioning that the gifts were bought with love, but I would rather get a gift expressing love because my man was thinking of me sporadically, not because its an holiday and he feels like he has to. Also people seem to get obsessed with what they got as a symbol of how much that person loves them, but it doesn't work that way. The guy who spent the most on me was the one who loved me the least. Also, a lot of guys I know use it as a Make -up holiday. They show no affection all year except for v-day then use it everytime they are accused of being uncaring."ya, I be a jerk today, but do you remember last vday when I bought you diamonds and stuff?" It's awful!
I think valentines day shouldn't be a holiday, I think we should take time out everyday to think about, and express our love for one another.
